More Than Metrics: Media Exchange Puts People First

Our ongoing SEO work at Media Exchange is all about providing real value to our clients and creating a meaningful difference for their businesses. Recognition from the APAC Search Awards for that work is something we consider a massive honour.

Media Exchange is a boutique independent media agency based in Melbourne. We deliver full-service marketing and advertising solutions, with a strong focus on digital services like SEO, paid search and social, and web development. Our team is honoured to have been nominated for three of our campaigns this year.

Our work for all of these clients involved a multi-faceted approach to improving performance in search, built around on-site optimisations, technical improvements and content writing. But we don’t limit ourselves to these results, instead taking a fuller picture of success by considering how search improvements translate to overall business growth and performance. Our approach: people first, results second.

We’re especially proud to see our work with Oakleigh Dental nominated for the second consecutive year. The female-owned practice is our longest-tenured client, and seeing their business continually grow and their results improve to the point of awards recognition is a point of immense pride in our agency.

The main driver of their success has been our regular blog posting, as well as continual review of their category pages and home page. The website reaches over 4,300 new users per month and ranks for nearly as many keywords, both significant increases year over year.

More importantly, we have seen growth in appointments being booked at the practice, a celebrated result given our mission to create a meaningful difference. These results show the benefit of our continued SEO service, and we hope that this partnership continues to be fruitful for years to come.

Unlike our work with Oakleigh Dental, both of the other campaigns we have been nominated for were in their first years.

Create Fertility started as a branding project for us, where we established their visual identity as an emerging brand, and then developed a new website to match. But emerging in the fertility market was always going to be difficult with so many established competitors, and we pitched our SEO services to give them the boost they needed.

We focused initially on optimising their category pages and writing blogs that would balance accessibility with decent traffic volume, and saw organic traffic grow from 161 in May 2023 to 933 in June 2024, a 489% growth. We also created branded graphics to help them communicate important concepts and rank in image search. Our first few months saw no website form submissions being completed while we helped the brand gain traffic, but we saw 46 completed in July 2024 alone, demonstrating improved user interaction and brand recognition.

Mira represented a new challenge for us: our first time working with a SaaS client. The Mira team — offering a job management software geared towards tradies and service businesses — had struggled to grow their signups, and our focus was on increasing these metrics while also highlighting Mira as the go-to solution.

We did this by optimising all the existing content, adding downloadable resources like guides and checklists, posting blogs, adding comparison pages with other softwares, and working with the team to improve the UX and UI. With no in-house marketing team, we provided continuous support to the Mira team, seeing website traffic increase from 0 to 150 visits per week and a regular flow of new trials.

The success of our work wouldn’t be possible without the trust of our clients, and their collaboration in identifying the right areas of focus, reviewing content and actioning our proposed changes. We don’t take that trust for granted, understanding the privilege of being able to work on behalf of business owners. Every brand that signs to work with us is approached with care, diligence and hard work, and these nominations represent what we can achieve when we stick to those values.
