One Solo Consultant, Four Nominations: Kuhan Supramaniam Consulting at the 2026 APAC Search Awards

Kuhan Supramaniam reflects on his APAC Search Awards journey.

Last year, I entered the APAC Search Awards for the first time and walked away with Silver for Best Low Budget Campaign. This work was completed alongside Crystal Wong from Skyblue Search for Keilor Road Physio. As solo consultants competing against established agencies with full teams and substantial resources, that recognition proved something important: strategic thinking and meticulous execution can compete with scale.

This year, Kuhan Supramaniam Consulting has been shortlisted in four categories:

  • Best Use of Search – Retail / eCommerce
  • Best Use of Search – B2C
  • Best Low Budget Campaign
  • Best SEO Campaign

Each nomination represents a different facet of what makes independent consulting powerful: personalised, innovative solutions that drive measurable results, regardless of budget constraints or market competition.

The Kate Hill Flowers Story

All four nominations stem from work completed for Kate Hill Flowers, a luxury floral business based in Melbourne.

When the owner approached me, their business was well-established in the high-end market but facing a critical challenge: online sales had begun dropping. The solution went beyond standard SEO tactics. We implemented strategic entity consolidation to strengthen the business’s digital footprint, developed targeted content strategies that spoke to both luxury and mid-market customers, and built a technical foundation that could scale with growth.

The results exceeded expectations. Kate Hill Flowers successfully penetrated new market segments while maintaining their luxury positioning, with significant increases in organic visibility, transactions, and revenue, all achieved within a modest budget.

Competing at the Highest Level

Looking at the 2026 shortlist, I’m honoured to be nominated alongside respected names like StudioHawk, Megantic, Prosperity Media, and other exceptional agencies and consultants. These are teams that have built incredible reputations through years of client service and innovation. Being recognised in the same categories is both a privilege and a reminder of how much there is to learn from others in this space.
